So say the Upanishads, India's ur-collection of sacred texts. String theorists and acoustic poets like John Cage may very well relate to this mystical claim. But here in Japan, there's Ms. Toyoko Matsuzaki, a seasoned vocalist, who goes way beyond merely relating. "I have the power to perceive the foundation of a person's soul by sensing fluctuations in their voice, breathing, and even footsteps," she claims in her bestselling book on her mystical powers, which she refers to as "Hado."
The scientist, Dr. Masaru Emoto, defines Hado as the intrinsic vibrational pattern found at the atomic level in all matter and considers it to be the underlying energy of human consciousness. To date, with this power, Ms. Matsuzaki claims to have cured atopy (eczema), fathomed messages veiled in business cards, and healed the inner wounds of a reclusive adult and a truant child, among other achievements.
A graduate of the Musashino Academia Musicae College, a prestigious musical academy in Japan, Ms. Matsuzaki made her mark in the world of Japanese opera as an active member of the highly regarded Kansai Nikikai Opera Company. But ever since a goddess appeared in her dream and bid her to "travel the road of music" one summer morning long ago in her youth, she knew she was destined to become a spitirual healer. Today, she enjoys a diverse following in Japan, Taiwan, and the United States, comprised of artists, musicians, physicians, lawyers, actors, and even homebuyers.
Her book, The Healing Power Of Hado, released by Beyond Words, offers lessons in mastering the art of Hado. A sequel may appear soon.
